Wireless Community Weekend and 45RPM

Last weekend, Saturday 15th of September, a wireless community weekend was held in the rooms of the former MedienKunstlabor at Kunsthaus Graz. Wireless community networkers from Funkfeuer Wien, Graz and Bad Ischl met with guests from Berlin (B.A.T.M.A.N) and Italy/Netsukuku.

The Saturday was started with an informal exchange. Later the various approaches to mesh routing were presented, in particular OLSR-Next Generation and B.A.T.M.A.N. I was very pleased to learn that the developers of B.A.T.M.A.N have made good progress, because a year has passed since I last had a chance to get personally informed about the project by Elektra. At the end of a long afternoon Jaromil gave a short presentation of the anarchic DNS protocol Netsukuku, talking to the developer via sweb stream and irc. Then, after a short break, I gave my talk, an improvised German version of 45RPM. 45 Revolutions Per Minute This text is maybe the best update of my current research interests. The presentation was followed by a lively discussion.

At the same occasion my 45th birthday was celebrated in a circle of friends and comrades from the wireless scene and I could spin some of my old vinyls, yes, on 45 revolutions per minute, which was the idea that held everything together. The party crowd celebrated with further DJs Disko404 and Amok Tok Tok till late into the night.

The event was very well organised by Funkfeuer Graz
and has done an excellent job in documentation. Here you will find edited versions of the videos:
